About Me

It wasn’t until I started to train for this event that I realised how much i liked wearing Lycra, however since I first slipped into my first pair of bib shorts I have never looked back.

Why I’m doing the challenge:

My Grandfather died of a heart attack when I was just six months old and Dick Hickton will not even get to see his grandchildren. Heart Disease is the UK’s most common cause of premature death in the UK and anything we can do to help change that must be a good thing.

As a personal challenge, this will be one of the hardest things I have ever undertaken. With between ten and fifteen hours of training each week since March I can only hope that I am prepared for the week of pain that will commence at the end of June. I just wish I could train my ar*e!

Favourite biking memory:

Watching Youngy forget to take his feet out of his peddles and collapse in a heap on the pavement.
